Ibadan Business Hub is an association of small and medium scale businesses with a vision to positively impact the economy of Oyo State.
In times past, Ibadan was known for its dominance in the nation’s commerce but the glory of times past gradually dwindled and we found ourselves in an era where Ibadan gets described as the ‘red roof city’, a city where inferior and substandard products are sourced, a city where business owners are underpriced because potential clients believe their goods or service delivery is inferior to that of their Lagos/ Abuja counterparts.
This led to serious struggle for sustenance by businesses in Ibadan, especially since the increment in shop prices and rise in unemployment rate which created many home based business owners.
The continued rise of the world wide web and social media however was a plus but there existed a vacuum for these businesses: visibility.
And this vision to fill this vacuum is what inspired the birth of Ibadan Business Hub, which then became a platform which businesses could ride on to achieve visibility, whether home based or brick and mortar.
And today, we celebrate five years of relentless perseverance through grace. It has not been an easy road, and there has been many reasons to want to discontinue the project. Any business owner based in Ibadan would know and understand how tough an environment Ibadan is for businesses/ organizations to grow and thrive in.
Today, we express our gratitude to God Almighty, who helped us this far, and in whom we solidly plant our hope for the future. And we are also thankful to every individual/ business who has one way or another supported the existence and growth of the hub. And to all members of our community, we say congratulations. And cheers to another great year ahead.
As our theme for 2023 is The Next Big Thing, we pray for God’s guidance and wisdom to help Ibadan Business Hub attain her next big phase, as we help businesses associated with us to achieve theirs.
