A while ago, Mr. Badmus asked a question through the Q&A channel. He had been hearing about starting a business with zero capital and felt lost because it seemed like he was not cut out to be successful, judging by the magical concept being shared (mostly by motivational speakers).
Now, if the question was “can I start a business with zero capital?” the answer would outrightly be NO.
However, indeed one can start a business with no money.

Different types of resources can be invested when starting or expanding a business, and it’s not always money. As a matter of fact, the most important resource that can be dedicated to any form of investment (not just business), is TIME.

Interestingly, when one comes to the realization of TIME being the most important resource in life, it becomes very clear how awesome and absolutely fair God, the creator is. He did not make any man rich or poor; He created everyone with EQUAL AMOUNTS OF TIME.
Each man, no doubt, has different levels of strength, gifts, intellectual knowledge etc but at the very beginning of life, it has been emphasized over and over again that we came to the world naked and empty and so shall we leave the earth.
This probably further explains the credibility in the fact that time, and how it is spent on earth, is the most important resource that builds value.
Indeed, some are born into wealthy families, and it is believed that it gives them leverage. 🤔 Does it though (absolutely)?
We have seen many wealth (financial) squandered, we have seen financial wealth being the cause of lives being lost; But we have also seen great men rise from ‘trenches’ and a lot of people not making it out of the trenches.
The answer lies with the concept of time. How each person invests time is fundamental to how successful (or not) he turns out to be!E
Ever wondered why the expenditure of time is referred to as ‘spend’? Perhaps because it is the most rudimental equivalent of money. It is easy to consider money as the most important resource because it is seen, and even the one that isn’t seen (electronic money) has a concept built around it that make it acceptable to tender, even if it is not real.
How about we consider time just as electronic money; not seen but spendable. Being able to spend it as a viable exchangeable resource, however depends on better understanding of the concept of time, what value has been built around your individual time, and how knowledgeable your target audience is about the concept of time.
The latter not being a problem at all; if you have developed value around your time resource over time, it would hold enough value that you can convince an audience to take as a money equivalent, or make money from, which in turn can be spent as a legal tender.
Why do motivational speakers or school teachers get paid for basically standing before an audience and ‘opening their mouth’? (Cos obviously, what they sell is invisible; they don’t bring wisdom in cartons to hand over to the audience, do they?
They get paid for it because they have invested their time resource, in gathering knowledge which now is worth a value (in legal tender), even though what they sell is as invisible as time itself.
In the same vein, in the past when someone eats for instance beyond their means at a restaurant (or buka), the person would be made to serve with time. (I guess such a person would just be arrested now though 🤣).
The most expensive thing that can be taken away from man is time. Especially because once it is taken, it cannot be replaced.
