A cooperative society is an association of people who come together with aligning vision usually centered around financing and community development.

Ibadan Business Hub established its cooperative society in March 2021.

With over a hundred members, the Hub has been able to address one of the most pressing problems that business owners complain about: Business funding/ financing.

The leadership of the hub is of the belief that at least 80% of the businesses who say funding is their greatest business challenge often get it wrong. However, especially for businesses that have existed for a period of time, there comes a time where financing becomes a genuine problem. This may be for purpose of scaling up production, diversification or keeping the business afloat in economically harsh periods as is common in Nigeria.

And this is where the cooperative becomes beneficial. The IBH Cooperative society is a community of hard working and trustworthy individuals who have genuine businesses whose success they strive for day and night.

To access loan from the IBH Cooperative society requires no collateral, but trust is essential. Trust is the one thing that binds any community together.

And as the leadership of the hub trusts that Oyo State and Nigeria at large would begin to move towards returning to communal living, we encourage honest and trustworthy business owners to join our cooperative.

The IBH Cooperative is hybrid, such that members can physically attend meetings or participate virtually. This way, distance does not have to be a barrier.
